In the eighth bout of UFC 124, The Ultimate Fighter season winners Mac Danzig and Joe Stevenson faced off. Danzig came into the bout 3-4 in the UFC and having lost his last fight, while Stevenson was 8-5 in the UFC and also coming off of a loss. Both fighters cautiously exchanged strikes and jabs for the first 90 seconds. Stevenson connected with an overhand right, only to be met with a Danzig left hook that landed flush to the chin as Stevenson tried to close the distance, dropping the immediately knocked out fighter to the mat in stunning and quick fashion. Commenting to Joe Rogan in the post-fight interview, Danzig stated, 'I've been landing that for years and years.
I've just started loosening up and popping it the way it's supposed to go. I knew he was going to come in and lead with that left hook.

The news was first reported by MMAjunkie.com Wednesday. The winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” season six, Danzig has fallen on hard times as of late, losing four of his last five bouts. After winning his first two fights in the Octagon, against Tommy Speer and, respectively, Danzig lost three straight contests, falling to, and from 2008 to 2009. A vegan since 2004, Danzig returned to his winning ways at UFC 109 in February when he defeated by unanimous decision.
The 30-year-old tasted defeat again in his most recent outing, losing by submission to at UFC 115 in June. The bout was marred by controversy, however, as referee Yves Lavine stopped the fight prematurely. Though Danzig was caught in a Wiman guillotine in round one, he did not tap. Thinking Danzig had gone unconscious, Lavine pulled Wiman off, to Danzig's chagrin. The replay clearly showed that Danzig was still conscious.
Migos Fight With Joe Budden
Is another winner of “The Ultimate Fighter.” He defeated by unanimous decision in the season two finale and has since gone on to have a successful career inside the Octagon. Stevenson holds an 8-5 promotional record, notching victories over, and to name a few. After running off four straight victories, “Daddy” challenged BJ Penn for the lightweight title at UFC 80 in 2008. Penn dominated the jiu-jitsu black belt, lacerating him badly and finishing Stevenson with a rear naked choke in round two. Since that time, the Jackson's Submission Fighting product has fought with mixed results, sporting a.500 record against some of the division's toughest competition.
Stevenson is coming off a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Aussie at UFC 110 in February. The event will be headlined by a welterweight title rematch between. The card will also feature a heavyweight tilt between and and a lightweight bout pitting against.
We all know Georges St. Pierre was the standout at UFC 124 on Saturday, but here are the night's three stars from outside the main event: 1) Mac Danzig: With his job on the line, Danzig responded with the biggest win of his career with a 1:54 knockout of Joe Stevenson in a battle of 'Ultimate Fighter' winners. Having lost four-of-five coming into this bout, the pressure was on Danzig and he knew it.

He shored up his technique, watched the tape and caught Stevenson coming forward with a nice shot that put 'The Ultimate Fighter 2' winner to sleep, something only one other man, Jens Pulver, has done to Stevenson in his 43-fight career. 2) Jim Miller: Many expected Miller to be a stepping stone for rising prospect Charles Oliveira. Instead, Miller spoiled the party, tapping the 21-year old with a kneebar at 1:59 of the first round.
With the impressive win, Miller (19-2-0 overall) moves to 8-1 in the UFC and currently is riding a six-fight win streak. His lone UFC loss is to Gray Maynard and his only other loss was to current champion Frankie Edgar. Miller currently is one of the most overlooked fighters in the company and figures to get a big step-up in competition for his next fight.
3) Mark Bocek: Bocek was impressive, submitting a slick grappler in Dustin Hazelett in only 2:33 with a triangle choke he locked in from top position before switching it over and forcing the tap from his back. Bocek has amassed a 5-3 record in eight UFC fights and has won four of his last five. His losses have come to Edgar, Danzig and Miller. Following the fight, he challenged George Sotiropoulos to meet him at UFC 131 in late April in Bocek's hometown of Toronto. Although ambitious, Sotiropoulos has to get past Dennis Siver in late February before that can even remotely be discussed.

It may have started slow, but it ended swiftly. Two former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winners went to war and, who was one fight away from unemployment, got the better of with a stunning knockout in the very first round. Both fighters were a bit tentative in the early going.
Ksi Big Fight With Joe Weller
Stevenson landed a big overhand right that looked to stun Danzig but the vegan warrior survived and responded with a crushing, one-punch knockout. As Stevenson came in with a combination, Danzig backed up and landed a well-timed and perfectly placed left hand that put 'Daddy' to sleep. Stevenson was looking to take a win home to his son Joey, who he honored with a banner tonight. Unfortunately for the Greg Jackson fighter, he'll have to go home and contemplate whether or not he'll even have a job come Sunday morning. Danzig had lost four of five coming into the fight and knew it was do or die.
